The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 November 2016 amounted to 511,096. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 1,400 persons or 0.27%.

Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 755 persons (0.20%) in Republika Srpska by 635 persons (0.50%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 20 persons (0.08%).

The structure of job seekers as of 30 November 2016 by educational level was as follows:

137,019 unskilled workers (26.80%),

8,756 semi-skilled workers (1.71%),

169,300 skilled workers (33.12%),

2,545 highly skilled workers (0.50%),

1,365 workers with primary education (0.27%),

143,623 persons with secondary education (28.10%),

7,168 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.40%) and

41,320 persons with university education (8.08%).

The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (33.12%) and workers with secondary education (28.10%).

The total outflow from unemployment registers in November amounted to 16,251 persons, out of which 9,737 persons due to employment.

At the same time, there were 7,131 persons whose employment terminated and 4,918 vacancies notified by employers. 

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 735,959 in October 2016, out of which 303,660 were women.  The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.4% from September 2016.

Registered unemployment rate in October 2016 was 41.0% which is a drop of 0.2 percentage point in comparison to September 2016.
