Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 September 2017

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 September 2017 amounted to 480,379. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 4,709 persons or 0.97%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 3,717 persons (1.04%) in Republika Srpska by 884 persons (0.75%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 108 persons (0.97%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 Septembar 2017 by educational level was as follows:
130,117 unskilled workers (27.09%),
8,137 semi-skilled workers (1.69%),
157,898 skilled workers (32.87%),
2,295 highly skilled workers (0.48%),
1,226 workers with primary education (0.26%),
134,670 persons with secondary education (28.03%),
6,716 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.40%) and
39,320 persons with university education (8.19%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.87%) and workers with secondary education (28.09%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in Septembar amounted to 21,938 persons, out of which 15,198 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 8,236 persons whose employment terminated and 5,995 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 746,178 in August 2017, out of which 310,029 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was decreased by 0.3% from July 2017.
Registered unemployment rate in August 2017 was 39,4% and it is the same as in July 2017.
