On 28 February 2014 556,892 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 422 persons or 0.08%.

Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 506 persons (0.13%) and in the Republika Srpska by 151 persons (0.1%), but was increased in the Brčko District BiH by 235 persons (1.92%)

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 28 February 2014 there were 155,245 unskilled workers or 27.88%, 10,743 semi-skilled workers or 1.93%, 192,747 skilled workers or 34.61%, 3,579 highly skilled workers or 0.64%, 1,668 workers with primary education or 0.30%, 145.525 with secondary education or 26.13%, 7,825 with higher non-university education or 1.41% and 39.560 with university education or 7.1%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.61% and unskilled workers with 27.88%.

The total outflow from PES registers in February amounted to 12,777 persons, out of which 7,266 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 5,675 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,584 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in January 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 692,283 persons, out of which 285,900 were women. As compared to December 2013, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.4%.

Registered unemployment rate in January 2014 was 44.6%.
