On 31 March 2013 553,580 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 1.025 persons or 0.18%.

Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 341 persons (0.09%),  in Republika Srpska by 674 persons (0.43%) and Brčko District BiH by 10 persons (0.08%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 March 2013 there were 160,570 unskilled workers or 29.01%, 11,126 semi-skilled workers or 2.01%, 192,619 skilled workers or 34.80%, 3,743 highly skilled workers or 0.68%, 1,807 workers with primary education or 0.33%, 141,157 with secondary education or 25.50%, 7,670 with higher non-university education or 1.39% and 34,888 with university education or 6.30%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.80% and unskilled workers with 29.01%.

The total outflow from PES registers in March amounted to 13,015 persons, out of which 7,373 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 5,958 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,579 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in February 2013 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 648,354 persons, out of which 264,640 were women. As compared to January 2013, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was down by 0.5%.

Registered unemployment rate in February 2013 was 46,1%. As compared to January 2013 it was increased by 0.1 percentage points.
