Overview of Labour Market Situation On 31 May 2015

On 31 May 2015 537,341 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 4,912 persons or 0.91%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 3,308 persons (0.85%) in Republika Srpska by 1,461 persons (1.04%) and Brčko District BiH by 143 persons (1.17%).
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 May 2015 there were 146,307 unskilled workers or 27.23%, 9,827 semi-skilled workers or 1.83%, 184,248 skilled workers or 34.29%, 3,085 highly skilled workers or 0.57%, 1,528 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 143,990 with secondary education or 26.80%, 7,368 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 40,988 with university education or 7.63%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.29% and unskilled workers with 27.23%.
The total outflow from PES registers in May amounted to 15,409 persons, out of which 9,363 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 5,083 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,557 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in April 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 709,995 persons, out of which 295,088 were women. As compared to March 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.3%.
Registered unemployment rate in April 2015 was 43,3%. As compared to March 2015 it was down by 0,3%.
