On 28 February 2013 554,605 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 35 persons or 0.01%.

Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 658 persons (0.23%). Unemployment was increased in Republika Srpska by 517 persons (0.33%) and Brčko District BiH by 346 persons (2.85%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 28 February 2013 there were 161,157 unskilled workers or 29.06%, 11,224 semi-skilled workers or 2.02%, 193,028 skilled workers or 34.80%, 3,746 highly skilled workers or 0.68%, 1,837 workers with primary education or 0.33%, 141,269 with secondary education or 25.47%, 7,659 with higher non-university education or 1.38% and 34,685 with university education or 6.25%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.80% and unskilled workers with 29.06%.

The total outflow from PES registers in February amounted to 12,280 persons, out of which 6,835 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 5,552 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,043 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in January 2013 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 651,342 persons, out of which 265,668 were women. As compared to December 2012, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.3%.

Registered unemployment rate in January 2013 was 46,0%. As compared to December 2012 it was increased by 0.1 percentage points.
