Overview of Labour Market Situation On 30 April 2015

On 30 April 2015 542,253 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 4,526 persons or 0.83%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 2,815 persons (0.72%) in Republika Srpska by 1,666 persons (1.17%) and Brčko District BiH by 45 persons (0.37%).
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 30 April 2015 there were 147,181 unskilled workers or 27.14%, 9,890 semi-skilled workers or 1.82%, 186,482 skilled workers or 34.39%, 3,120 highly skilled workers or 0.58%, 1,533 workers with primary education or 0.28%, 145,493 with secondary education or 26.83%, 7,400 with higher non-university education or 1.36% and 41,154 with university education or 7.59%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.39% and unskilled workers with 27.14%.
The total outflow from PES registers in April amounted to 16,672 persons, out of which 10,426 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 5,561 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 4,182 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in March 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 707,560 persons, out of which 294,061 were women. As compared to February 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.2%.
Registered unemployment rate in March 2015 was 43,6%. As compared to February 2015 it was down by 0,2%.
