Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 April 2018

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 April 2018 amounted to 458,355. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 7,975 persons or 1.71%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 6,080 persons (1.77%) in Republika Srpska by 1,714 persons (1.53%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 181 persons (1.68%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 April 2018 by educational level was as follows:
126,520 unskilled workers (27.60%),
7,772 semi-skilled workers (1.70%),
149,212 skilled workers (32.55%),
2,117 highly skilled workers (0.46%),
1,155 workers with primary education (0.25%),
127,564 persons with secondary education (27.83%),
6,682 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.46%) and
37,333 persons with university education (8.14%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.55%) and workers with secondary education (27.83%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in April amounted to 20,825 persons, out of which 14,248 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 7,325 persons whose employment terminated and 5,668 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 794,505 in March 2018, out of which 336,356 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.4% from February 2018.
Registered unemployment rate in March 2018 was 37.0% which is a drop of 0.4 percentage point in comparison to February 2018.
