Labour market overview, situation as of 30 June 2022

The number of unemployed people registered with public employment services in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 30 June 2022 was 359 607. As compared to a month earlier, this number was lower by 904 persons or 0.25%. Out of the total number of job seekers, 208 006 or 57.84% were women. In comparison to the same period of the year earlier, unemployment in BiH was lower by 34 174 persons or 8.68%.
Unemployment decreased in Republika Srpska by 1 319 persons (1.93%), but increased in Federation of BiH by 343 persons (0.12%), and in the Brčko District of BiH by 72 (1.35%).
Job seekers by qualification levels, situation as of 30 June 2022:
99 233 unskilled workers or 27.59%, of whom 58 489 (28.12%) women;
5 689 semi-skilled workers – lower educational background or 1.58%, of whom 2 895 (1.39%) women;
113 390 skilled workers or 31.53%, of whom 53 633 (25,78%) women;
1 117 highly skilled workers or 0.31%, of whom 207 (0.10%) women;
102 753 with secondary education or 28.57%, of whom 66 423 (31.93%) women;
5 998 with two-year post-secondary education or 1.67%, of whom 3 967 (1.91%) women;
31 427 with university degree or 8.74%, of whom 22 392 (10.77 %) women.
A total of 21 081 people were deregistered from public employment services in June, of whom 9 790 were women. Out of this number, there were 9 765 flows into employment, of which 4 864 were women.
At the same time employment terminated for 9 245 people, of whom 4 474 were women. In the same period, employers reported 4 919 vacancies.
According to BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of people in employment in BiH in May 2022 stood at 844 792, of whom 376 152 were women. In comparison to April 2022, the number of people in employment was increased by 0.2% and the number of employed women increased by 0.2%.
Registered unemployment rate for May 2022 was 29.9% and was 0.4 percentage point lower than in
April 2022.
