Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 June 2018

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 June 2018 amounted to 448,071. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 1,996 persons or 0.44%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 872 persons (0.26%) in Republika Srpska by 1,094 persons (1.01%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 30 persons (0.29%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 June 2018 by educational level was as follows:
123,752 unskilled workers (27.62%),
7,599 semi-skilled workers (1.70%),
144,809 skilled workers (32.32%),
2,072 highly skilled workers (0.46%),
1,132 workers with primary education (0.25%),
125,596 persons with secondary education (28.03%),
6,455 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.44%) and
36,656 persons with university education (8.18%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.32%) and workers with secondary education (28.03%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in June amounted to 18,661 persons, out of which 12,572 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 7,271persons whose employment terminated and 4,275 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 802,718 in May 2018, out of which 339,364 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.8% from April 2018.
Registered unemployment rate in May 2018 was 35.9% which is a drop of 0.6 percentage point in comparison to April 2018.
