On 30 June 2014 545,362 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 768 persons or 0.14%.

Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 604 persons (0.16%) in Republika Srpska by 139 persons (0.09%) and Brčko District BiH by 25 persons (0.21%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 30 June 2014 there were 151,366 unskilled workers or 27.76%, 10,405 semi-skilled workers or 1.91%, 187,824 skilled workers or 34.44%, 3,343 highly skilled workers or 0.61%, 1,635 workers with primary education or 0.30%, 143,998 with secondary education or 20.40%, 7,660 with higher non-university education or 1.40% and 39,131 with university education or 7.18%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.44% and unskilled workers with 27.76%.

The total outflow from PES registers in June amounted to 14,936 persons, out of which 9,219 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 5,562 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,553 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in May 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 707,780 persons, out of which 292,457 were women. As compared to April 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.2%.

Registered unemployment rate in May 2014 was 43,5%. As compared to April 2014 it was down by 0.1 percentage points.
