Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 November 2017

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 November 2017 amounted to 475,549. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 2,642 persons or 0.55%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 1,688 persons (0.48%) in Republika Srpska by 927 persons (0.80%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 27 persons (0.25%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 November 2017 by educational level was as follows:
129,035 unskilled workers (27.13%),
8,036 semi-skilled workers (1.69%),
155,338 skilled workers (32.67%),
2,233 highly skilled workers (0.47%),
1,217 workers with primary education (0.26%),
133,363 persons with secondary education (28.04%),
6,890 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.45%) and
39,437 persons with university education (8.29%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.67%) and workers with secondary education (28.04%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in November amounted to 17,676 persons, out of which 11,297 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 7,757 persons whose employment terminated and 4,104 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 754,020 in September 2017, out of which 314,787 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was down by 0.1% from September 2017.
Registered unemployment rate in October 2017 was 38,8% which is a drop of 0.1 percentage point in comparison to September 2017.
