The number of unemployed people registered with public employment services in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 30 November 2021 was 378 079. As compared to a month earlier, this number was lower by 4 269 persons or 1.12%. Out of the total number of job seekers, 217 947 or 57.65% were women. In comparison to the same period of the year earlier, unemployment in BiH was lower by 35 175 persons or 8.51%.

Unemployment decreased in Federation of BiH by 3 079 persons (1.01%), in Republika Srpska by 1 001 persons (1.4%) and in the Brčko District of BiH by 189 persons (0.01%)

Job seekers by qualification levels, situation as of 30 November 2021:

102 096 unskilled workers or 27.00%, of whom 60 015 (27.54%) women;

6 030 semi-skilled workers – lower educational background or 1.59%, of whom 3 081 (1.41%) women;

119 185 skilled workers or 31.52%, of whom 56 558 (25,95%) women;

1 254 highly skilled workers or 0.33%, of whom 233 (0.11%) women;

109 178 with secondary education or 28.88%, of whom 69 90 (32.07%) women;

6 670 with two-year post-secondary education or 1.76%, of whom 4 371 (2.01%) women;

33 666 with university degree or 8.90%, of whom 23 789 (10.92%) women.

A total of 20 893 people were deregistered from public employment services in November, of whom 9.991 were women. Out of this number, there were 9 494 flows into employment, of which 5 042 were women. 

At the same time employment terminated for 8 330 people, of whom 4 227 were women.  In the same period, employers reported 4 507 vacancies. 

According to BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of people in employment in BiH in October 2021 stood at 826 286, of whom 361 285 were women.  In comparison to September 2021, the number of people in employment was same and the number of employed women increased by 0.1%.

Registered unemployment rate for October 2021 was 31.6% and was 0.1 percentage point lower than in September 2021.
