Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 September 2019

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 September 2019 amounted to 403,355. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 3,493 persons or 0.86%.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 1,657 persons (0.53%), in Republika Srpska by 1,704 persons (1.93%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 132 persons (1.78%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 September 2019 by educational level was as follows:
111,440 unskilled workers (27.63%),
7,335 semi-skilled workers and workers with primary education (1.82%),
127,811 skilled workers (31.69%),
1,591 highly skilled workers (0.39%),
115,009 persons with secondary education (28.51%),
6,321 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.57%) and
33,848 persons with university education (8.39%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (31.69%) and workers with secondary education (28.51%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in September amounted to 22,404 persons, out of which 15,731 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 11,592 persons whose employment terminated and 5.103 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in BiH amounted to 816,926 in August 2019, out of which 349,106 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was decreased by 0.6% from July.
Registered unemployment rate in August 2019 was 33.2% and was 0.1 percentage point higher than in July.
