Overview of Labour Market Situation as of 30 November 2019

The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 30 November 2019 amounted to 401,359. Compared to the previous month, unemployment increased by 17 persons or 0.004%.
Unemployment increased in the Federation of BiH by 215 persons (0.07%), but decreased in Republika Srpska by 31 persons (0.04%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 171 persons (2.37%).
The structure of job seekers as of 30 November 2019 by educational level was as follows:
110,476 unskilled workers (27.53%),
7,239 semi-skilled workers (1.80%),
126,810 skilled workers (31.60%),
1,548 highly skilled workers (0.39%),
114,378 persons with secondary education (28.50%),
6,462 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.61%) and
34,446 persons with university education (8.58%).
The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (31.60%) and workers with secondary education (28.50%).
The total outflow from unemployment registers in November amounted to 16,336 persons, out of which 9,738 persons due to employment.
At the same time, there were 10,313 persons whose employment terminated and 4,605 vacancies notified by employers.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 825,466 in October 2019, out of which 356,122 were women. The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.4% from September 2019.
Registered unemployment rate in October 2019 was 32.7% which is a drop of 0.2 percentage point in comparison to September 2019.
