On 31 December 2015 537,568 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 909 persons or 0.17%.

Unemployment was increased in the Federation of BiH by 394 persons (0.10%), in Republika Srpska by 470 persons (0.35%) and in Brčko District BiH by 45 persons (0.37%).

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 December 2015 there were 142,374 unskilled workers or 26.48%, 9,435 semi-skilled workers or 1.76%, 181,534 skilled workers or 33.77%, 2,864 highly skilled workers or 0.53%, 1,476 workers with primary education or 0.27%, 148,538 with secondary education or 27.63%, 7,586 with higher non-university education or 1.41% and 43,761 with university education or 8.14%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 33.77% and workers with secondary education 27.63%.

The total outflow from PES registers in December amounted to 14,611 persons, out of which 7,594 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 7.566 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 3,118 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in November 2015 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 719,175 persons, out of which 296,367 were women. As compared to October 2015, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was down by 0.1%.

Registered unemployment rate in November 2015 was 42.7%. As compared to October 2015 it was same.
