On 31 July 2013 552,989 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was increased by 4,682 persons or 0.85%.

Unemployment was down in the Republika Srpska by 510 persons (0.34%), and in Brčko District BiH by 13 persons (0,1%), but was increased in the Federation of BiH by 5,205 persons (1.35%)

In occupational structure of job seekers as on 31 July 2013 there were 156,972 unskilled workers or 28.39%, 10,897 semi-skilled workers or 1.97%, 190,483 skilled workers or 34.45%, 3,706 highly skilled workers or 0.67%, 1,725 workers with primary education or 0.31%, 142.502 with secondary education or 25.77%, 7,821 with higher non-university education or 1.41% and 38,883 with university education or 7.03%.

The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.45% and unskilled workers with 28.39%.

The total outflow from PES registers in July amounted to 13,784 persons, out of which 7,541 persons were employed.

At the same time, there were 6,820 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 2,694 vacancies in this period.

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in June 2013 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 686,299 persons, out of which 281,912 were women. As compared to May 2013, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.1%.

Registered unemployment rate in June 2013 was 44.4%.
