The number of persons registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 31 October 2018 amounted to 437,783. Compared to the previous month, unemployment decreased by 3,889 persons or 0.88%.

Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 1,684 persons (0.51%), in Republika Srpska by 1,995 persons (1.98%) and in Brčko District of BiH by 210 persons (2.08%).

The structure of job seekers as of 31 October 2018 by educational level was as follows:

119,733 unskilled workers (27.35%),

7,265 semi-skilled workers (1.66%),

140,604 skilled workers (32.12%),

1,933 highly skilled workers (0.44%),

1,064 workers with primary education (0.24%),

124,326 persons with secondary education (28.40%),

6,482 persons with two-year post-secondary education (1.48%) and

36,376 persons with university education (8.31%).

The largest share in registered unemployment continues to be made up of persons with third level of education: skilled workers (32.12%) and workers with secondary education (28.40%).

The total outflow from unemployment registers in October amounted to 20,955 persons, out of which 12,793 persons due to employment.

At the same time, there were 9,159 persons whose employment terminated and 5,054 vacancies notified by employers. 

According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 808,627 in September 2018, out of which 344,296 were women.  The total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was increased by 0.9% from August 2018.

Registered unemployment rate in September 2018 was 35.3% which is a drop of 0.6 percentage point in comparison to August 2018.
