The number of unemployed people registered with public employment services in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 31 October 2022 was 357 312. As compared to a month earlier, this number was higher by 781 persons or 0.22%. Out of the total number of job seekers, 207 300 or 58.02% were women. In comparison to the same period of the year earlier, unemployment in BiH was lower by 25 036 persons or 6.55%.
Unemployment decreased in Republika Srpska by 245 persons (0.37%) and in the Brčko District of BiH by 29 persons (0.58%), but increased in Federation of BiH by 1 055 persons (0.37%)
Job seekers by qualification levels, situation as of 31 October 2022:
99 307 unskilled workers or 27.79%, of whom 58 876 (28.40%) women;
5 518 semi-skilled workers – lower educational background or 1.54%, of whom 2 830 (1.37%) women;
113 020 skilled workers or 31.63%, of whom 53 743 (25.93%) women;
1 061 highly skilled workers or 0.30%, of whom 210 (0.10%) women;
102 596 with secondary education or 28.71%, of whom 66 445 (32.05%) women;
6 005 with two-year post-secondary education or 1.68%, of whom 3 965 (1.91%) women;
29 805 with university degree or 8.34%, of whom 21 231 (10.24 %) women.
A total of 18 887 people were deregistered from public employment services in October, of whom 8 949 were women. Out of this number, there were 8 919 flows into employment, of which 4 556 were women.
At the same time employment terminated for 9 017 people, of whom 4 585 were women. In the same period, employers reported 2 916 vacancies.
According to BiH Agency for Statistics, the number of people in employment in BiH in September 2022 stood at 842 124, of whom 376 147 were women. In comparison to August 2022, the number of people in employment was increased by 0.9% and the number of employed women decreased by 1.9%.
Registered unemployment rate for September 2022 was 29.7% and was 0.5 percentage point lower than in August 2022.
