The Labour and Employment Agency of BiH hosted today a delegation of the German Federal Employment Agency.  The aim of the German delegation was to provide more information on the liberalisation of the German labour market for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Besides the representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH and the German Federal Employment Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives of Entity Employment Services, Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Entity Chambers of Economy and the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

The German delegation gave a brief presentation of the organisational structure and the tasks of the German Federal Employment Agency and objectives and implementation mode of the section of the German Regulation on the Employment of Foreigners pertaining to the possibilities of employment of citizens from the countries of the Western Balkans.

The representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH shared their experiences in placement of nurses in Germany and drew attention to the problem of the long visa processing period in the German Embassy in BiH.

We remind that as of 01 January 2016 Germany alleviated legal conditions for the admission of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the German labour market.  According to the new Regulation, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina can obtain residence permit for all occupations, trainings and ancillary activities.   In order to be able to enter Germany to engage in employment one needs to have a secured job offer and a work visa.

For that purpose, the vacancy has to meet the following conditions: there should be no job seeker with preferential rights available to fill that vacancy and earnings and working conditions specified in the work contract must correspond to those of comparable German workers.
