The Labour and Employment Agency of BiH has signed today at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo the Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation. The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by Mr. Muamer Bandić, LL.M., Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, and Mr. Mikhail Ivankov, Deputy Director General of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation.

On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum, Director Bandić said: “We are aware that labour migration has been on the rise in the last decade and there is a growing need to exchange the information from different labour markets. This is why the cooperation of the labour market institutions is imperative in order to successfully deal with the changes taking place. This cooperation will help initiate and implement the measures and programmes that impact the matching of labour supply and demand in the domestic labour market, as well as the work with vulnerable labour market groups, the models for the monitoring of labour migration and its setting into legal frameworks, and, in particular, the mechanisms for legal protection of migrant workers”.  The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation will help us strengthen the cooperation of the two institutions that is focused on enhancing the work of employment services and providing services to employers and job seekers, underlined Director Bandić.

Mr. Mikhail Ivankov, Deputy Director General of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation, stressed that the two services will intensify their cooperation in the future by exchanging the knowledge and experience on employment and labour market policies and sharing the knowledge on the implementation of national legislation and labour market statistics and analyses.
