How can we build a labour market that meets the real needs of people and the economy, while adapting to the demands of the digital age?  How can migration become an opportunity for development, rather than an obstacle?  What lies ahead in the world of work evolving faster than ever?  Will our jobs, skills and opportunities be able to keep up with the pace of digital transformation and migration flows?

These questions will be addressed by the first Labour and Employment Forum - Dialogue and Partnerships for the Future, which will be held on 11 and 12 November 2025 at Hotel Vučko, Jahorina.

The Forum, organised by the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Office for BiH and SEE (FES)  will bring together representatives from institutions of all levels of authority, public employment services, trade unions, employers, academic community and international partners.

During the two-day event, participants will discuss the following key topics shaping our work today and in the future:

Labour market in transition: challenges, opportunities and the need for social dialogue,

Future-oriented skills and digital services – how to prepare workers and institutions for a new era of work,

Migration and labour mobility – how can the diaspora and returnees become a driving force for development,

A look ahead: Labour market of BiH by 2030 - common vision and recommendations for the future

This Forum aims to evolve into a regular annual platform for a strategic dialogue on the labour market, alignment with EU policies and modernisation of public employment services. It will focus on building a resilient, inclusive and digital labour market, recognising people as the key resource for development.
