Expanding cooperation with the Austrian Public Employment Service



The Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH met with Dr. Herbert Buchinger, the Director General of the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) to discuss the labour market situations, labour supply and demand in both countries and the future cooperation between the two institutions.  Special emphasis was laid on the requirements of Austrian employers in view of hiring workers with specific types of occupations which will be further discussed in the coming period.  

The Austrian Public Employment Services has large experience in and adequate resources for retraining and skills-upgrading of unemployed persons which the Agency's representatives were able to witness during their visit to a Vocational Retraining Centre.  During their official visit to Vienna on 13^th-14th November 2012, the Agency's representatives paid visit to the AMS Regional Employment Office when they were introduced to services provided to unemployed persons.

The parties agreed to intensify their cooperation in the coming period, notably in the fields of vocational training of the unemployed and labour migration.

The official visit of the Agency's representatives to the Austrian Public Employment Service was organised by Mr. Oliver Hiller, Attaché for Social Affairs in the Austrian Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection.  This was yet another opportunity to continue a successful cooperation and convergence trend of the labour market institutions in Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
