Joint projects agreed

Delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency took part in the conference ‘Assistance in Facilitating Geographic Mobility in Cross-border Regions’ held from October 04 – 07 2011 in Harkany, Hungary.  The conference was organized by the Employment Office of the Republic of Hungary in co-operation with the EURES.  Although the conference involved employment services from the EU Member States (operating within EURES network) and bordering countries of the Republic of Hungary, the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina received invitation for the above conference owing to the Co-operation Protocol signed with the Employment Office of the Republic of Hungary.

Members of the delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina were introduced to the organization, employer selection methods and work of the EURES advisers.  They also obtained the latest information on labour mobility in the region and implications of cross-border labour mobility for different labour markets.  The conference attendees were also provided with the data on labour mobility in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.  The most important thing is that the experiences presented are transferable to the countries of the Western Balkans where Hungarian experts offered their support in project preparation.

During its visit to the Republic of Hungary, the delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina took the opportunity to negotiate a joint project to be funded by the Employment Office of the Republic of Hungary which will support development of employment services through certain areas which will be defined by the end of the year.
