A delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, headed
by Muamer Bandić,
Director, is visiting the German
Federal Employment Agency with a view to verifying the status of the
workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina employed in the FR Germany.
“According
to German employers, BiH workers are among the most
wanted and best foreign workers and employers are very satisfied with
them”, said Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH. “We
have been mediating in employment of medical staff with secondary
educational attainment in Germany since 2013 and 4710
persons have been placed in jobs through our mediation services so far.
Their experiences are positive and employers are satisfied with workers
as much as workers are satisfied with the working conditions. What
gives me great pleasure is the fact that the
existing Agreement on mediation in employment of BiH workers in the FR
Germany for a fixed time-period negotiated between the Labour and
Employment Agency of BiH and the German Federal Employment Agency is
fully respected and that no problems between workers
and employers have occurred so far”, said Muamer Bandić.
“I
would also like to stress that following the information
on the cases of purchased forged diplomas we have organized a series of
meetings in order to find out whether there were cases where BiH workers
went to Germany with such diplomas and checks have been made in Germany
which proved that no such cases occurred.
I would like to point out that, under the Agreement, all workers from
BiH must go through the diploma recognition process which is yet another
way to prevent such frauds”, said Director Bandić.
“It
is important to say that we took the opportunity during
the visit to talk about expanding the existing cooperation which was a
follow-up to talks held last year. Germany is interested in
semi-skilled workers for seasonal employment in agriculture, as well as
in skilled occupations with secondary education. Taking
into account the labour market situation in our country in terms of
labour surpluses and demand, it was agreed that the German side will
submit a draft cooperation agreement on employment of BiH workers with
demanded occupations. In concrete terms, these would
include three groups of occupations: electricians, metal workers and
plant mechanics for sanitary,
heating and
air-conditioning
technology.
The further procedure now entirely depends on how fast the German side
will submit a detailed description of occupations according to their
curricula
which we will then compare with ours”, said Director Bandić.
