WAPES European regional meeting held



The European regional meeting of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) was held in Stockholm on 11^th and 12^th June 2019 with active participation of a delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH headed by Muamer Bandić, Director of the Agency.  WAPES Activity Plan for the second half of 2019 was presented and guidelines for Activity Programme in 2020 were adopted in the meeting. 

Two other important parts of the meeting were a round table on innovations in the work of public employment services and the presentation of WAPES Long-term Strategy with focus on internal self-assessment.  Given that the Labour and Employment Agency acted as WAPES Internal Auditor in the previous period, our experience was presented in the meeting.
“The Labour and Employment Agency of BiH is always willing to share its experiences while remaining open for new knowledge and work methods applied by other public employment services.  In this way, we keep up with the latest trends in the labour market governance,” said Director Bandić.

We remind that WAPES is a global platform for public employment services of member countries that promotes exchange of information with a view to improving labour market.  About 90 countries are currently members of WAPES.
