Meeting with FBiH Association of Employers



Representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH met with representatives of the FBiH Association of Employers on 11^th March 2024.  On behalf of the Agency, the meeting was attended by Director Ivan Barbalić and Assistant Director, Samir Zuko, and the Association of Employers was represented by Adnan Smailbegović, President of the Association, and Mario Nenadić, Director of the Association.  They discussed the situation in the labour market, the position of employers and labour shortages.  The representatives of the FBiH Association of Employers reiterated their views on the necessity to speed up the process of issuing work permits to foreign workers and harmonize legislation on employment of foreign workers between the Entities.  It was also proposed to create a list of shortage occupations which would require improvements in statistical monitoring of unemployment records in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  It was agreed to give more attention to these issues and that the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH should engage in addressing these issues in accordance with its powers.
