The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina are organising the conference “From Education to Career: Strengthening Links between Education and the Labour Market through the European Initiatives Euroguidance and Europass”, to be held on 02 June 2026 at Bosmal Arjaan by Rotana Hotel in Sarajevo.  The conference is organised with the co-financing support of the European Union.

The conference aims to strengthen cooperation among educational institutions, employment authorities, and other relevant stakeholders, while further developing the system of career guidance and counselling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Particular emphasis will be placed on aligning education with labour market needs, enhancing youth employability, and promoting the European initiatives and tools Euroguidance and Europass.

The organisers highlight that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to face challenges such as the mismatch between educational outcomes and labour market needs, the difficult transition of young people from education into employment, and the absence of a systematically developed career guidance and counselling framework. Against this backdrop, the conference will bring together representatives of public institutions, academia, employment services, civil society sector, and international organisations to discuss potential solutions and give recommendations for strengthening the system.

The conference agenda includes expert presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops dedicated to career guidance and counselling, cooperation between the education and employment sectors, and the use of European tools for career development and labour mobility.

The opening session of the conference will include presentations on the current state of career guidance and counselling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as European perspectives and tools in this field. The panel discussions will focus on multisectoral cooperation and the role of various tools in improving career counselling, while the workshops will address the integration of career guidance into education systems, as well as strengthening cooperation between educational and employment institutions with the aim of enhancing employability among young people and other unemployed persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
