Mr. Muamer Bandić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH met in Ljubljana today with representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the Republic of Slovenia to discuss the conclusions of the meeting of the Interstate Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on Employment of Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Slovenia, held in July this year when amendments to the mentioned agreement were discussed.

Based on the conclusions from July, the discussion in the meeting today was about the need of introducing the bilingual employment contract as additional instrument of protection of workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of their better understanding of their rights and obligations.  The absence of one such contract opens up the possibility for situations when workers do not fully understand their rights and obligations which can lead to the violation of their rights or breach of work obligations specified in the contract.

It was agreed to set up a group consisted of representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Slovenia responsible for the labour market supervision that would monitor the implementation of the Agreement in the Republic of Slovenia with the aim of better supervising the labour market in the Republic of Slovenia and inspecting the working conditions of BiH citizens working in that country.
