On 15 October 2024 in Podgorica, the Directors of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Employment Agency of Montenegro, Ivan Barbalić and David Perčobić,  signed a Cooperation and Partnership Agreement aimed at establishing long-term cooperation in the fields such as the exchange of labour market information, support to the unemployed, and protection of the most vulnerable workers.

The meeting in Podgorica was attended by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Montenegro, Branimir Jukić, and the Chairman of the Management Board of the Employment Agency of Montenegro, Aleksandar Šipčić, along with representatives of the management from both parties. Ambassador Jukić expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating: "This Agreement is a powerful signal of both countries' commitment to improving mutual relations and lending support to those who most need it".

Ivan Barbalić, the Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, extended his gratitude to his Montenegrin counterparts for their hospitality and the information and experiences they shared. "We will particularly benefit from the experiences regarding the digitalization of services, as we also urgently need a faster and effortless access to information for all users," said Barbalić.

The signed agreement lays the foundation for future cooperation, which will unfold through the exchange of experiences and resources towards a common goal of strengthening the labour market and supporting the most vulnerable categories of the labour force. Through joint programmes, the institutions will work on mediation in seasonal employment and training, thereby contributing to the stability of the labour market and development of local communities.
