Joint Committee Meeting between the German Federal Employment Agency and the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH



From July 9^th to 10^th 2024, a Joint Committee Meeting between the German Federal Employment Agency and the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH was held in Nuremberg, FR Germany. The agenda of the meeting focused on the exchange of information on BiH workers employed in FR Germany, the experiences from the employment project for medical workers implemented by GIZ, strengthening of institutional cooperation and the support by the German Federal Employment Agency in establishing EU standards following the granting of EU candidate country status to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as offering the support and experiences in digitalisation and the establishment of ESCO system. 

The conclusion of the meeting is that the German Federal Employment Agency is to propose an action plan that should include bilateral exchange activities on the topic of employment of nurses and the classification of private recruitment agencies participating in this process, the exchange of information on the number of BiH workers in FR Germany, the activities to adapt to EURES requirements and the sharing of knowledge and experience aimed at EU integration.

On the second day of the visit, the delegation of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH paid a visit to our nurses at the Rummelsberg Hospital near Nuremberg where the nurses shared their experiences of working in Germany.  All the nurses were satisfied with their working conditions and placement processes, and the employers were also satisfied with their employees from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
