Implementation of Social Security Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Serbia

On 14 September 2011 representatives of the Institute for Social Insurance of the Republic of Serbia and Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting in Belgrade on development and adjustment of templates for implementation of the Agreement. 

Templates for unemployment insurance defined

On 14 September 2011 representatives of the Institute for Social Insurance of the Republic of Serbia and Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting in Belgrade on development and adjustment of templates for implementation of the Agreement.

The two delegations discussed the content and forms of bilingual templates for implementation of the Agreement on Social Insurance in the field of unemployment concluded between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as well as other issues related to the implementation of the mentioned Agreement.  The delegations agreed on general principles, content and layout of bilingual templates.  The bilingual templates for unemployment insurance were examined in detail and heads of delegations initialled the proposed templates.   It was agreed that the start of application of new templates would be 1 January 2012.

The BiH delegation proposed to consider the possibility of amendments to the Social Insurance Agreement, bearing in mind the changes occurred in the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with regards to competences and organization of liaison authorities, as well as the fact that the Republic of Montenegro has launched initiative for signing a new agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The delegation of the Republic of Serbia agreed on this proposal expressing willingness to raise this issue with the responsible ministry.  The two delegations also discussed the issue of enhancing cooperation between insurance institutions with particular reference to the necessity of introducing electronic data exchange in this field aimed at more efficient realization of rights of insured persons.  The next round of talks of liaison authorities will be held in Sarajevo.
