Agreement on employment of our citizens in Qatar has not been signed yet



Regarding the information published in the local and foreign media concerning the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the State of Qatar on regulation of employment of BiH citizens in the State of Qatar, the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina notifies hereby the general public that the above Agreement has not been signed and put in effect yet.

We also stress that the Agreement provides for employment of the work force from Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only of the cleaning ladies as published in the media.  The Agreement will enable employers from the State of Qatar to file request for the necessary work force and our citizens will decide if the offered jobs and conditions of employment suit them or not.    

The Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received a large number of different requests from private recruitment agencies from the State of Qatar which refer to the above Agreement.  However, we cannot act in accordance with the Agreement before its entry into force.
