Last year the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina intensified its cooperation with different international organisations in the field of employment in order to remain updated of the current trends in employment.

To this end, representatives of the Agency attended different conferences on various topics.  Cooperation with the European Network on Regional Labour Market Monitoring (EN RLMM) offered us an insight into the current trends in the regional and local labour markets, problems, skills and perspectives of the regional and local labour market actors and ways to depict foreign (educational) qualifications in regional and local labour market monitoring.  LEA BiH made a successful article contribution to the EN RLMM Anthology 2012.  In framework of preparatory activities for the EN RLMM Anthology 2013 we have shared our experiences on shifting roles of the labour market observatories across Europe as the only public employment service from the South East Europe contributing to the improvement of the concept of work of the European observatories.    To this end, the EN RLMM organized a Skype conference bringing together numerous actors in order to analyse changes and challenges faced by labour market observatories.  Public employment services from BiH, as well as the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH were complimented for their experiences in labour market observatories which could be useful in advancing the work of observatories across Europe.

Among the range of our activities was participation in the international conference organized by the Ministry of Social Policy of the Republic of Bulgaria on „Exchange of Experiences and Good Practices Related to the Relationships between the Public Employment Service and Local Employers“. The purpose of the conference was to analyse the relationship between the mentioned actors and provide guidelines for improvement of that relationship aimed at better employment in the labour market.

In cooperation with the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) we have exchanged information on activities undertaken in the training for new skills in demand and challenges at local and regional levels from the aspect of the new emerging job posts and their filling.

Cooperation with the ILO, CPESSEC and CoR has given us new insights into the problems and methods of work in the field of youth employment.  We have used the support of these institutions to strengthen our human potentials through several training courses comprising as many as fifteen different modules designed to strengthen capacities of public employment services.  Owing to these and similar activities, the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has successfully participated in implementation of activities in the fields of labour, employment and social policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina stipulated in the map on the  approximation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union.
