The Third Coordination Meeting on improving labour migration management, jointly organised by the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina with support from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), was held on 15 and 16 April 2026.

During the two-day meeting, the participant engaged in in-depth discussions on key challenges and opportunities in this field focused on building an efficient and interconnected system aligned with the labour market needs, while ensuring transparency and well-regulated procedures.

The main focus of the discussion was on digitalisation processes, data exchange and making use of the EU and regional experiences.

The discussion also addressed cooperation with countries of origin of foreign workers, highlighting the importance of bilateral agreements and their effects on regulated employment and protection of workers' rights.  Additional value came from the insights of employers, agencies and embassy representatives, along with the Italian experience and IOM support in developing well-regulated labour mobility models.

It was concluded that continuous dialogue, inter-institutional cooperation and contemporary digital solutions are key to developing a sustainable and efficient labour migration management system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
