In framework of the activity ‘Developing Pilot Offices’  implemented under the Youth Employment Project (YEP), the representatives of GOPA, the German consulting company, have signed today a contract with the representatives of the Employment Service of Republika Srpska and the Sarajevo Canton Employment Office.  The contract has been signed in the premises of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Youth Employment Project is developing,  in cooperation with the Employment Service of Republika Srpska and the Sarajevo Canton Employment Office,  two pilot labour offices in Doboj and Novo Sarajevo.  The aim of the activity is to undertake the reform of public employment services, i.e. their physical transformation (refurbishment and supply with technical equipment) focusing on the change in the working practice.  This approach implies the change in organisational structure, client-oriented philosophy (focus on employers and the unemployed), performance-oriented activities and improvement in working practices and the change in infrastructure.  The public employment services will thus become more actively engaged in assessing employers’ needs, develop their counselling services aimed at faster labour market integration of the unemployed and monitor their performance to justify the investment of public money.

The Youth Employment Project (YEP) is being implemented by GOPA GmbH, the German consulting company with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
