WWW.OBUKE.BA – THE LARGEST EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION

The purpose of the website is to support development of adult education database which will enable BiH businesses and individuals to gain access to extensive information on non-formal training programmes and professional training providers in one place.

The website aims to:

·         provide information to potential users on current offers in non-formal and formal sector, focusing on advanced training;

·         avoid creation of identical trainings under different projects in the same region;

·         facilitate selection of training providers to public employment services;

·         facilitate the identification of topics for creation of new training courses to all training providers and thus indirectly influence the broadening and diversification of offers in the sphere of adult education.

Most of the countries have their own information management systems in the sector of formal education.  Such a system in the sector of non-formal education exists only in few cases.   Businesses, public employment services, private recruitment agencies and individuals currently have no access to a single source of information which can provide them with all necessary information on programmes, their quality, duration, location, learning outcomes, prices etc.  The website  www.obuke.ba will provide both citizens and businesses with the information on adult education organisations in BiH, vocational training programmes, relevant legislation, publications and research.   www.obuke.ba builds on the database of training providers offering training courses currently available and enables its visitors to explore the site by different parameters.

www.obuke.ba has been created within the Adult Education Support Project with the aim to point to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to opportunities offered by adult education and stress the importance of lifelong learning through positive examples.  The Project has been implemented in cooperation with the USAID-Sida FIRMA Project, the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, the Federal Employment Service, the Institute for Adult Education of Republika Srpska and SPEKTAR private recruitment agency.

The Adult Education Support Project is a joint initiative of the German International Cooperation Agency (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit - GIZ) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).  GIZ supports the German Federal Government in achieving objectives of international cooperation for sustainable development.  SDC operates within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and coordinates international development cooperation and activities of the Swiss Confederation.
