Željko Tepavčević, Deputy Director of Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, opened CPESSEC Expert Conference and PES Forum on “Efficiency of Active Labour Market Measures”



Sarajevo hosted today the Expert Conference and the eight Forum of Public Employment Services on “Efficiency of Active Labour Market Measures” which were held as part of the annual presiding of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH over the Centre of Public Employment Services of Southeast European Countries.  The Conference was organized by the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Austrian Embassy in BiH, Youth Employment Project (YEP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).  The Conference was opened by Mr. Željko Tepavčević, Deputy Director of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH who said that the aim of the Conference and the Forum was to strengthen the support to entrepreneurship subsidy schemes by public employment services.  “We want to develop training for entrepreneurs that will help them choose the right idea for their business, then to create sustainable financial models that will subsidise the implementation of business plans with obligatory mentoring and monitoring of the implementation.  Our aim is to fully implement the started business idea and make them sustainable while also sending the message to service beneficiaries that they will have support of public employment services”, said Tepavčević.

He also added that today’s conference and the Forum would serve to adopt the positive practices from the region on this topic.  “It is our aim today to create a functional organisation and a set of processes of creation, communication and delivery of values for all members of this organisation because information and knowledge sharing is one of the most important resources today”, added Tepavčević.  

Besides the representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, the conference was attended by delegations of CPESSEC member countries, representatives of Youth Employment Project (YEP), Entity employment services and Employment Service of the Brčko District of BiH and cantonal employment offices.
