Monitoring of Decision on Visa-free Regime for Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Union

During its visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a delegation of the European Commission/EU Expert Mission visited the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 October 2011 in order to assess previous implementation of commitments taken from the Visa Liberalisation Roadmap, i.e. implementation of the visa-free regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

EC Expert Mission briefed on employment programmes in Bosnia and Herzegovina

During its visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a delegation of the European Commission/EU Expert Mission visited the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 October 2011 in order to assess previous implementation of commitments taken from the Visa Liberalisation Roadmap, i.e. implementation of the visa-free regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Apart from the EC experts and responsible staff of the Labour and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Federal Employment Service, Employment Service of Republika Srpska and Employment Service of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

The expert team was introduced to the present state-of-play in the field of employment and employment programmes with emphasis on employment of returnees and their social issues in BiH, as well as employment of aliens in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  Representatives of entity-level employment services and of the BiH Brčko District talked about their individual employment programmes mentioning the support provided for employment programmes by the governments of the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska and of the BiH Brčko District and their efficiency assessment.

The expert mission was particularly interested in requirements for issuance of work permits to foreign nationals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implementation of Roma employment programmes and co-operation of Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina with employment institutions at all levels.   

The expert mission will continue its visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina until 14 October through working meetings with other institutions relevant in implementation of commitments taken from the Visa Liberalisation Roadmap.
