Representatives of the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH hosted today a meeting with a delegation of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation.  The meeting represents a continuation of cooperation of the two institutions pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions. Participants in the meeting discussed the current labour market situation in both countries and Mr. Muamer Bandić, Director of the Labour and Employment Agency, presented positive developments in the labour market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“As different as the labour markets of our countries may be, we are aware that there are also some things that we have in common, like the issue of youth employment or employment of hard-to-employ target groups.  This is why it is important to exchange experience and information on working models in order to improve the operation of our institutions and thereby our efficiency in the labour market”, said Mr. Bandić.

It was concluded that the exchange of information on the labour market and experiences in the work of the two institutions proved to be an excellent practice so that the cooperation will continue in the years to come.  Following the meeting in the Agency and with a view to help deepen the understanding of the labour market in BiH, the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH organised for the representatives of the Federal Service for Labour and Employment of the Russian Federation a meeting with representatives of the FBiH Employment Service to discuss specific labour market programmes designed to assist youth and disabled people into employment, as well as models of cooperation with employers.

After these meetings, a study visit to the Employment Service of Bosnian-Podrinje Canton will be organised to present a positive example of local employment partnership consisted of the public employment service, educational institutions and employers.
